I hate my job....

Hi, fellow Aussie. I’m second year out and I had my first year in a school that was highly regarded by the public, but ended up being run by publicity seeking dictators who wanted to pad their CVs. And yes, Department of Education. I hated it there.

At the end of the year I was head hunted by a local Catholic School. I hadn’t really considered teaching in the Catholic Education system before. We’re in Term 3 and I am loving it. By about Week 5 Term 1 I was driving home with a realisation that I love my job and feel at home. I am surrounded by so many more professionals who put the students first and not themselves.

So yeah, get out. Find another position and leave. You cannot be the change alone. And consider employees outside the Department.
