I hate nursing. Anyone else? Its not what I signed up for. F this profession. No amount of $$$ is worth my happiness, health, sanity or life. Screw working in modern day (hospital) healthcare.

I switched from the floor to ICU and that helped somewhat. I definitely get more respect and I feel supported by the providers I work with, I have plenty of resources at my disposal, and honestly my wages are decent.

Although it happens less often, I still get yelled at by patients and families for things outside of my control. I take good care of my patients. But at the end of the day, the ICU is just God’s waiting room. I see a lot of tragedy and quite frankly, our entire healthcare system is a hot mess. So many patients admitted because of failure to follow up or insurance issues. It’s so depressing and I know I can’t stay bedside for the rest of my life. Looking to go into education at some point.
