Take control and fuck society's expectations. Fuck everyone's expectations. Make a plan for where you want to be and make that happen. You don't have to take anyone's advice or opinions about your life. You can follow all your own rules and shrug off other people's expectations of you. They aren't you, and only you will have to deal with the consequences of your choices.

If people pressure you to drink, and you become an alcoholic or get arrested for under-age drinking, who has to pay for that decision? Only you.

You are allowed to not drink, you are allowed to think that betting is mathematically unviable. You are allowed to make all your own decisions and deal with the consequences of your own decisions. It would suck if you followed someone else's advice against your own reason and had to pay those consequences.
