Is Hate Speech legislation important to you? Vote Solidarity candidates 5/5, we've got your back.

I would argue that in a healthy democracy, all speech and arguments would be condoned.

I believe that by allowing more controversial or hateful opinions to be aired, we can display our own opinion reasoning why aforementioned opinion is wrong.

If such opinions are banned, then such discussions are banned and thus less people are informed why it is wrong to be bigoted/ what counts as bigotry.

There are already systems in place to both decentivise hate speech and incentivise challenging of hate speech, it's called the downvote system.

TLDR: I believe that rather than placing the job of fixing/punishing hate speech on the mods, we should instead place it on the average subreditor.
