We hated him, but he was one hell of a good player. Congrats Rivera

This isn't about closers getting into the HoF, it's about the nonsensical idea that Rivera "deserved" to be inducted unanimously. Let's make a comparison, shall we?

Player A: 2.63 ERA, 100-38, 1274.1 IP, 1746 Ks, 374 BBs, 2.60 FIP Player B: 2.21 ERA, 82-60, 1283.2 IP, 1173 Ks, 286 BBs, 2.76 FIP.

Player B is Mariano Rivera for his career. Player A is Randy Johnson from 1998 to 2002. On no planet does Mariano Rivera merit an unanimous induction into the Hall of Fame while Randy Johnson did not. It's simply absurd. Rivera was a deserving Hall of Famer, but he is very far from being even in the conversation of the greatest players of his generation.
