Hating on EVs because you need to charge them is stupid.

They're really only good for the daily commute. My country doesn't even have Tesla supercharging stations, so if I wanted to go cross-country in the winter when it can be -10 to -15c, I'm fucked.

Also, maybe I'm paranoid, but I'd be uncomfortable leaving anything overnight to charge. Some smarthpone batteries have exploded while charging overnight. All batteries have the potential to blow-up, especially when charging. I wouldn't sleep well knowing a fire could start in my garage.

Also, just like the batteries inside your smartphone/laptop, your car's range will gradually decrease the longer you use it and eventually you'll need a new battery pack. Those cost quite a lot from what I've heard. A gasoline-powered car's range will always be the same and you're not gonna need to replace the fuel tank after 5-10years.
