Haven’t watched anime in years, catch me up

Carole & Tuesday

Shinichiro Watanabe’s (Cowboy Bebop/Samurai Champloo) newest anime about two girls trying to make it in the music industry on Mars where most music is AI generated. He’s also using mostly English speaking musicians for all the songs and there’s dozens of artists working on the project. It just started airing it’s second cour, but unless you wanna “sail the seas” it’s not being released on Netflix until the end of August.

Sarazanmai

Ikuhara’s (Utena/Penguindrum) newest show that aired last season. This one is so weird that words don’t easily describe this one very accurately so you really have to just watch the first episode and you’ll either be intrigued enough to follow through until then end or it’s probably not a show for you.

Banana Fish

Gang drama based on a shounen-ai manga. Very little gay romance, but an excellent crime thriller all the same.

Given

This seasons new shounen-ai about two guys, a band, and the romance that ensues between them. Manga readers say this one shouldn’t be full of tropes like most everything else in the genre.

Run with the Wind

Sports anime about a newly formed college cross-country running team. Lots of character drama and development similar to sports anime like YoI.

My Roommate is a Cat

Short and (mostly) cheerful slice-of-life series.
