I haven't been back to Hawaii in over 13 years now. Finally seeing my family after so long too this Sat.

Oh shit. This means you haven't seen Ewa Wing of Ala Moana yet.

We lost Sears over at Ala Moana and now Ala Moana looks NOTHING like what you are familiar with. Makai Market is less "outdoorsy". Makai side Ala Moana now has a luxury condo thing sitting on top of it where only rich people can live. Mauka side Ala Moana basically had all its small shops and stuff torn down for a multistory expansion with shops, one of which is a Target and another being a Nordstrom Rack.

Shirokiya is gone. There's a "Shirokiya village" on the Ewa Wing side but it's a shell of its former self - it's mostly a loosely modified version of the food eating area on old Shirokiya's 2nd floor.

Foodland Ala Moana is gone - there's a Foodland Farms but it just feels like a Whole Foods ripoff.
