The Haves and Have Nots

  1. I rent, I could realistically afford a house here in the next year or two but I have no desire to buy in the city I am currently in.
  2. I am planning to live in 2 or 3 more cities before I settle down so a 10 year plan for home buying is more realistic for me.
  3. Landlording is not a real job and while I’m sure there are some who do it well and ethically but the problem we face is heartbreaking and my sympathy is with those who cannot afford a roof over there heads because of the way the markets are. I have watched the COL in my hometown sky rocket investors buying up properties everywhere and kicking out people who have been in these neighborhoods for decades. We have an insane house less problem and empty homes that investors buy for pennies and flip or rent for more than the average person here can afford.
