Having a hard time convincing people to try out league but then they usually love it. Can anyone relate?

I was one of these people, except I don't "love it" even now. People tried to get me into it since release, but I always refused. I finally started playing when the only thing my friends talked about at school was LoL, and a private-server for an MMO I liked shut down, as well as another old game I liked. I didn't like LoL at all, but eventually started enjoying the combat. Eventually, I ended up just playing ARAM all day, and my main/only account has more than twice the amount of ARAM games than Summoner's Rift. Whenever another game which I wanted to try came out like Archeage or Blade&Soul, I quit LoL with absolutely no regrets. I'd always come back whenever the game ends up disappointing though. I "recently" came back to LoL because Blade&Soul has a shitty P2W and grind-style progression system.

The fact that LoL has a fun combat system, pretty much zero continual P2W/grind requirements (the initial is behind me, so doesn't matter), and many of my friends play is what keeps me coming back. I hate the concept of last hitting minions. I hate the concept of fog-of-war, and jungling, and ganks, and warding. I hate the concept of split-pushing, and hate some champions to the point of wishing they don't exist. The entire genre isn't for me, but in ARAM, it's basically like a certain type of fighting game. I happen to enjoy this type of fighting game. When the next MMO I look forward to comes out, I'll be gone from LoL for another 3-6 months at the minimum. If the game doesn't end up sucking at endgame, I'll never come back.

TL;DR - I was hard to convince because the genre really isn't right for me. If my friends play with me though, and I have the option to play ARAM, and I don't have anything better to play, I end up staying with LoL.
