Having spurned the A’s money, Peralta College trustees may turn to voters

The Berkeley-Oakland-Hayward statistical area is one of the fastest growing in the country. Oakland has 4000 units under construction currently and already has nearly 9,000 approved.. Oakland has reached it's peak historical population after years of it falling due to the crime waves. It's office vacancy rate is one of the lowest of any downtown in the United States and it's about to add 1.5 million more square feet of office space.

Claiming Oakland isn't growing is just trolling, though claiming it can or should be growing more or going about it smarter is fine. It's true that if the building cycle turns Oakland will be hit harder than other cities, but that's still a substantial growth in housing inventory and population.
