Having a weird experience with a barista

Part of our job is to make customer connections. Since you've become a regular and they remember you that's going to include asking about your day, what you're studying, etc. It's perfectly fine if you don't want to tell them and have the connection - not everyone does. Her attitude towards you at the end of your explanation here is uncalled for and she shouldn't be asking you to move or pick up your bag so she can sweep or stack chairs. If they want to do that stuff before close, we're supposed to do it in a manner that does not bother customers.

I recommend talking to the manager or manager on duty and explaining these experiences about her and state that you understand she's doing her job but, when you're sitting at a table or waiting in line, you'd like to be left alone to study and that you don't appreciate she singles you out sometimes. You could also get the app and mobile order the water when you arrive and just let one of the bar baristas know that you already grabbed it and then sit down and get to studying. I do recommend speaking to a manager about her, though, especially since she clearly keeps bothering you so she can do cleaning tasks that are supposed to be done when the store is closed to not bother customers. And it does seem like she is going out of her way to bother you.

Hope this helps.
