Hawaii becomes 1st state to ban sunscreens deemed harmful to coral reefs

I was in Hawaii for 3 hours without sun screen on my first day and had the worst sunburn of my life.

It almost ruined the rest of the trip for me - I peeled more than I ever have after rubbing aloe on myself every few hours for the rest of the week.

If there's not a readily available alternative then we are literally putting countless human lives at risk to save coral.

That is unacceptable IMO.

Finding a better way to dispose of pollutants or trash or whatever is one thing, but when a policy puts human life at risk or causes human suffering to save something like coral then yes - we need to ask ourselves what really matters more.

As someone who values the sanctity of human life, I would put human life over all other life on the planet every time - absolutely.
