At first this was my favourite national finalist, but it would have done terribly in the actual competition; you can't stop comparing this entry to Salvador's song from 2017. It is the same approach; vocals and minimal to no staging. Except where Salvador's performance was a masterpiece start to finish (regardless of how one might feel about the artist as a person), this song lacks to deliver a similar (let alone better) experience.

I understand how polarising Conan's performance was, but that was actual art. I can absolutely see why Conan won the national final. This song would have probably also not qualified in the semi, but we'll never actually know. I do know that we had a lot of entries betting on vocals alone this year, so it is very likely that this entry would have paled in comparison. It's definitely impossible to follow in Salvador's footsteps for a while.
