They clearly don't know the women very well if they thought this was the best idea to "prompose". Most likely it is the way they would have liked to be promposed to, and mistook it as the way they should do it.

And honestly... I think it really sucks when people do that. They don't consider the wants and needs of their spouse/girl friend/boyfriend and instead believe that they are of one heart. Also honestly I think it sucks that the woman didn't think to prompose to him herself. Would have been lovely if a friend tipped her off and she could have set up a similar situation. I think women should start to make those all important first moves at way more periods during a relationship. I love to be the one to surprise a date with breakfast in bed. Or something as simple as a good morning kiss despite both our bad breath, or invite them to an event I know they're excited for - surprise them with ticket to a show even if I'm not fond of the artist but I'd go just to support them and be a part of their interests.

You know? This could have gone so sweetly if roles were reversed.
