Head of Hindu Goddess Durga, found at Tapa Sardar, Afghanistan. Believed to date from c. 400 AD. National Museum, Afghanistan. [789x800]

This is a modern rendition of the same Mā, the divine feminine. She's depicted as a dark complexioned young woman. One might notice and appreciate the third eye in her forehead. I truly feel sorry for our ancestors, who had to endure so much brutalities at the hands of Islamic conquerors, just because they indulged in the forbidden practices of idolatry and polytheism. Yet they never indulged in the extraction of vengeance for all the wrongs generations after generations had to endure. Maybe, they were too weak. Or, perhaps they were extremely idealistic that ultimately costed them their everything. Still, I hope that peace prevails in the modern world.
