I heard of some stories about people from growing up that ended up doing violent and sexual crimes but received lenient sentences. Now I’m wondering about petty crime, and if anyone has received harsh consequences for something not as serious as a violent or sexual crime.

Yes, so weird that I want to know if people’s punishments are influenced by race or financial status. Or is it weird that we live in a world where people are treated differently because of race and financial status?

I’ve never been accused of a crime. Looking at the court docket for Oshawa tomorrow hereseems a lot of people get accused in Oshawa, every day all day, from different races and income levels.

I want to know if people get different treatment based on race and income level in sentencing.

I’ve seen certain races and poor folks get treated differently by the police, the government, and the education system. Maybe they get treated differently in court too.

So very weird indeed.
