Is Hell symbolic for being in the presence of God?

It’s hard for me to understand that aspect,

Yeah, it was really hard for me to understand that aspect too. A few years ago, I was thinking about joining a Protestant church but – like you – I just couldn’t bring myself to believe most people are going to hell. Learning about the Mormonism brought me great relief!

Someone who isn’t as educated or hasn’t experienced things like other Christians don’t deserve to be sent to hell.

This is exactly what the Mormonism teaches! Check out this scripture from the Book of Mormon which says that those who do not have God’s law won’t be condemned,

25 Wherefore, he [God] has given a law; and where there is no law given there is no punishment; and where there is no punishment there is no condemnation; and where there is no condemnation the mercies of the Holy One of Israel have claim upon them, because of the atonement; for they are delivered by the power of him.

--2 Ne. 9:25

The same principle is also taught in the Doctrines and Covenants as well! Check out these scriptures,

the Lord ordained and prepared before the foundation of the world, for the salvation of the dead who should die without a knowledge of the gospel.

-- D&C 128:5

7 Thus came the voice of the Lord unto me, saying: All who have died without a knowledge of this gospel, who would have received it if they had been permitted to tarry, shall be heirs of the celestial kingdom of God;

8 Also all that shall die henceforth without a knowledge of it, who would have received it with all their hearts, shall be heirs of that kingdom;

9 For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts.

10 And I also beheld that all children who die before they arrive at the years of accountability are saved in the celestial kingdom of heaven.

--D&C 137:7-10

3 For of him unto whom much is given much is required; and he who sins against the greater light shall receive the greater condemnation.

--D&C 82:3

Per above, the degree of condemnation one receives is proportional to their knowledge (or ‘light’). If someone has great knowledge of the gospel, they are held to a higher standard than those with less knowledge. Therefore if someone has no knowledge of the Gospel, they have no chance of being condemned. Doesn’t that make sense?!

Do you guys still believe the whole story of Christ the same way Christians do? That he died for the sins of the world..

Yes! The Atonement of Christ is the focal point of Mormon theology. It is written in the Articles of Faith,

3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

And Joseph smith, the founding prophet of Mormonism, once said

“The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it. But in connection with these, we believe in the gift of the Holy Ghost, the power of faith, the enjoyment of the spiritual gifts according to the will of God, the restoration of the house of Israel, and the final triumph of truth.”5 - The Prophet Joseph Smith

Thanks again!

No problem! If you think these ideas are interesting then you should try meeting up with Mormon missionaries in your local area. They would love to talk to you! You can try using this website to find the nearest LDS church: https://www.lds.org/maps/meetinghouses/.
