[HELP] Adopted a pitbull (1 yr old) last week. What next, training-wise?

It’s not a wrong word, it’s just an outdated “debunked” method of training. It’s lucky that you came across that concept now, before wasting time and effort trying to make it work lol. You can definitely start training yourself, and try not to buy into the pit bull as a challenge myth, because most are very sweet, protective dogs (if not abused). Fun fact- the original dog in Peter Pan was actually a pit bull, because of their protective yet gentle traits. You will find a lot of good information on r/dogtraining for things you can do yourself.

We’re all dog lovers here lol, so really the only thing people will get mad at your for is using a choke chain or like kicking your dog or something. Good luck, it’s so exciting to have a new pup!
