Help! Bread Winner vs Stay at Home Parent Issues - Splitting Responsibilities

he's in for a shock if you do have kids.

FWIW - we're early 30's with one kid. I work and my wife is SAHM. I work from home full time. While my wife does indeed take the brunt of night care - it's simply because she has breasts and I do not. We've started moving away from one of the night feeds so if our baby wakes up in the night - one of us will go through...and I'll try to be that one in the night. Fortunately, she is starting to go 6 hours of sleep so things are getting more "normal". I likewise do 90% of the cooking - laundry when the basket starts to overflow or if there is a poopexplosion.

Yes..I do need my sleep, but so does my wife. It's all about give and take. I usually have the baby after she's woken up for an hour or two before I go to my home office and things change - I'm pretty much off limits in the day, especially when the door is shut - but as soon as the evening comes - things start up.

Do not bring a child into this relationship if he's not willing to be a partner in it.
