Hey everyone and thanks soooo very much for all your comments and suggestions! I'm new to reddit so kind of just getting into the swing of things! But I really appreciate you taking the time to write your comments!
I've been doing loads more research and tried a few looms since last time and I'm still debating with myself.... However, my options are limited as I live in Ireland so I kind of need to buy one somewhere close by as to not get slaughtered by shipping and costume taxes.
I have narrowed it down to either the leclerc Dorothy 24' - what I like about it is that it can convert into a floor loom when buying the stand with treadles and you can also add more shafts later on to make it an 8 shaft.
And then I'm thinking about the Ashford 24' 8 shaft table loom which you also can convert (but only the first 4 shafts) And I have tried one recently and did quite like the 'springyness' of the reed action. However - I'm really not a fan of the texsolv heedles and the loom feels very light which is a bit worrying for doing heavier work.
So far in my weaving adventures I have mostly woven pieces for decoration purposes - such as wall-hangings and so on. Using loads of different yarns and fabrics. I'm hoping that my weaving will become more than a hobby at some stage so will need a loom that can last me for a good while (until I'm ready to upgrade again!) :)
