Help me get some sleep

Im having the exact same issue with my kitty. She will leap into my bed and meow and cry until we feed her. There are a few things you can try. One of>I've recently (February) moved house. At my old place, my housemate always woke up early and fed my furbaby to stop her from crying. However, at my new place I am the first person to wake up in the morning, and that's usually not until about 8. As it is, I'm a very light sleeper, and I figured my cat meowing in the mornings was something that would go away after about a month of living here. I was wrong.

It's been two months and I'm barely sleeping. After we put my cat to bed (at about 9:30-10ish) with her dinner, we don't make too much noise and she usually settles down. However every morning without fail she has been meowing early (5-6am, if not earlier), and loudly enough to wake me up, despite the fact that my bedroom is down the other end of the house to the laundry where she sleeps and I wear earplugs every night to stop her from waking me up.

I don't know how I'm supposed to get her to stop crying. When she wakes me up with her meowing, I don't immediately go to her because I don't want her to associate the two behaviours, although it's true that when I wake up in the morning on the rare occasions when she isn't meowing, the first thing I do is let her out. She's not a playful creature but I have been trying to play with her more to tire her out at night so that she sleeps for longer - although her general apathy and contempt for most toys is a bit of a roadblock to this.

Originally she was in a different room but she was damaging the door frames (which can't happen, because we are in a rental property) and opening the doors so we decided to put her in the laundry at night, which I don't like (because it's small and that's where her litter box is) but I didn't have a choice because it was that, or letting her roam free where she would sit outside my door in the morning, meowing, waking me (and worse, my housemates) up.

I know that the reason that she is meowing is to get something that she either wants or needs but I don't know what that is. I also have a medical condition that gets worse with lack of sleep and I'm really at my wits' end.

Any advice will be appreciated. I have no idea what to do any more.

them is to ignore her totally. We also have a spray bottle with lemon juice in it by the bed, so the minute she comes in we spray her face and she runs :). After a spray or two she tends to stop. Also try feeding your kitty just before you go to bed (so divide up her meals for the day) and hopefully she will be hungry later on when you are awake. I hope this helps!
