Help me understand Northern footings.

The third picture looks like a traditional basement setup and is many feet below grade. If that’s what you are doing, should be good. But what changes things is you add “with walkout basement” which in most definitions means the entire grade outside is as low as the basement floor. At that point the basement/footers are no longer In the ground so you need to go lower.

Someone else pointed out the frost line is only like 18 inches. I see online someone says 12 inches. That’s nothing One or two extra rows of block seems a minuscule budget item for a whole house or addition

In new jersey it’s like 3 or 4 feet!
