I want to help my father for his retirement. How should I go about this?

Thanks for the insight. I have my own savings and retirement account. I’m saving pretty aggressively so I definitely am putting my own oxygen mask on before helping him. I don’t have numbers to provide, but I’m in good standing and working on it. I’m sorry if that’s not enough information - I just don’t feel comfortable sharing.

If he were to get an IRA, $6K per year for the next 5 years or so wouldn’t be much. Do you still recommend it?

I have spoken to him about it… he doesn’t have an IRA or any retirement account. He has a savings, that’s it. Unless he’s lying to me, that’s pretty much all he has to my knowledge.
