[HELP] My skin looks leathery and flaky, how can I cover this up?!

I feel your frustration OP - my skin is flake crazy.

I am going to let you know what has worked for me. It seems obvious, but drink more water. I drink an extra bottle right before bed. Get a decent humidifier too. I keep one right by my bed, and leave it on when I sleep - this made a dramatic difference in my skin.

I was using the cetaphil moisturizer, like you said you were using. It's a heavy moisturizer, but I felt like my skin never improved while using this. I would slather that on my face constantly, and flake up right away anyways. I ended up getting clogged pores, and it led to more skin issues for me. You also mentioned the clinique moisturizer. If you love it, great. But I despise that moisturizer. Again, I was constantly slathering that on my face, but I was a flakey mess.

This has been one of my favorite night moisturizers. (if you have the budget for it) link I use just a tiny bit at night, and my skin was dramatically improved within 24 hours of using this. But it's SO pricey. I managed to make that tub last me about 4 months though, using a tiny bit with just the spatula that comes with it. I go back and forth with moisturizers now, just to try to save on costs.

I stopped using primer underneath my makeup. I haven't found one yet that doesn't dry me out. Instead, after applying makeup, I use the UD setting spray. This really locks in the moisture, and helps set my makeup. link This is HG for me now.

What setting powder do you use? A LOT of them have ingredients that are designed to remove oil - which makes dry skin worse! The hourglass illuminating powders and the Nars light reflecting powder don't dry out skin.

Generally, you are going to want to stick with cream products. I am loving the bobbi brown foundation stick. It works well on dry skin too.
