Help please! My husband (30M) and I (30F) can't seem to get our finances in order!

So I looked into this. To keep our same internet speed (husband is a gamer), it would be the same price. I also asked about removing the land line from our package, and Xfinity said they would charge $20 more/month to remove it. I tried looking at AT&T and other internet providers, but they charge more for the same internet speed. Any suggestions?

Your gamer husband doesn't need fast internet to play games. The relevant metric is "ping" which is the amount of time it takes a packet to get from you to the server. Fast/expensive internet is about bandwidth, but has nothing to do with ping times. So I would drop to a lower tier.

Do you not have television? I doubt you're paying $200+/month for internet and phone. If you don't have TV, and that's why you're paying, you must have crazy internet and it's time to cut back to a more reasonable plan. If you do have TV, you need to cancel TV. The issue isn't the phone, it's the TV.

We have a contract with ADT - 2 more years. I probably won't renew it since we have cameras now.

What's the early termination fee? Is it $1,440? If not, CANCEL.

Sigh....unfortunately, we spend closer to $700/month in groceries for two people! I cut coupons, never shop at Whole Foods, and shop the sales ads (including Sprouts!). I meal prep, and make a lot of food at home. Problem is that my husband hates leftovers after the 2nd day, so then he eats out all the time.

We shop exclusively at Sprouts and Whole Foods. We buy everything that is fresh produce etc from Sprouts and all meat from Whole Foods. Our weekly grocery budget for two people is $75-$100. You guys are buying too much processed food, not cooking enough at home, and otherwise just doing it wrong. IDK what else to say about that. If you're clipping coupons I assume you're making a list? If you're not making a list before you go to the store, start doing that.

Your husband needs to eat last night's leftovers for lunch. I do. I don't like it, but I do it.

Sewage/trash is the county's rate every 2 months.

Can't do anything about that.

Yup, we both have the 256gb Iphone X. Looked into lowering this too, but I'd like to keep my phone.

Figures. Does your line item for your cell phones include your monthly phone payments and the cost of your plan? Your plan should be $150/mo for two lines of unlimited data and your phones should each be around $55/month. Nothing you can do about any of this, but your paying for your choices.

There is $1,115 accounted for in travel funds

I accounted for that.

And yup, my husband eats out a lot...I'm talking 2-3x per week. We've tried cutting this out, but he ends up doing it anyway. I'm not solely blaming him either. My shopping habit kicked in for the last few months, and I overspent a lot on clothes and other dumb crap.

$10/day, 20 days/month is $200/month. Your husband going out for lunch isn't breaking your budget. You guys are spending $300/week. Where is that money going?
