[Help] Should we rescue?

Yes, please rescue! First; if you buy from a breeder you are supporting breeding. Whether you go to some big dog factory or find an add on craigslist - it comes down to supply and demand. If they continue to sell puppies, they will continue to breed. *My second dog came from a breeder who couldn't find a home for him, he wasn't "pretty" enough so he was dumped.

Shelter dogs aren't always turned in for behavior issues. I'm in rescue and i see dogs turned in for so many reasons. The owner died, lost their house, there was a divorce, job loss, etc... So many shelter dogs are simply helpless "victims"

I would suggest going with a rescue organization. Both of my dogs are rescues and i got both at about 3 months old. Both were started on training, socialization, vaccinations, etc. Earlier this year i fostered a high energy puppy that was 5 months old. Her family had no time for her, didn't train her and she developed "princess syndrome" She would snap and bark - was really "mean" and they were going to put her down.. she had serious fear-aggression issues and zero outlets for her energy. I couldn't believe a baby deserved to die so i took her and she lived with me for 6 months - and in that time - we worked through all of those issues. She developed confidence, learned to trust humans and left a cuddly ball of love. (giving hugs and kisses was her most favorite thing!)

As the foster i was able to tell potential adopters every little detail about her. Her likes/dislikes, triggers to be aware of (all dogs have triggers that lead to behaviors both wanted and unwanted) how to get her in the car or off the couch.... Rescues want to save dogs and put them in the perfect permanent home, and they go to great lengths to do so.
