Help! Used Corolla or Prius?

I don’t think this will be the answer you’re looking for, but keep the Camry.

The Prius is either out of warranty, or about to be for the batteries. The replacement on those alone will eat up most of the difference in the value of your Camry and the purchase price. You can have the health checked out, but if they’ve never been replaced I would walk away super fast. At 140k miles, there are likely to be other issues. Steering components wear out, suspension wears out, wheel bearings wear out, etc. I would be hesitant to purchase a vehicle with at many miles on it, hybrid or not, unless you have strong feelings for the car. It will probably go at least another 100k miles, but be prepared to pay maintenance costs. Especially if you aren’t comfortable doing the work yourself.

The Corolla is going to be similar to your Camry, but smaller. Probably have a few less creature comforts, and likely more miles. In this case, rather than spending more money on dealer fees, taxes, inspections, registration, etc. I believe it’s better to stay with the car you’ve maintained and already know. Much less of a gamble in my opinion. Especially if there’s lower miles and you can continue driving it longer.
