Help with simple program

Okay, first of all, I debated on replying as the vast interweb is not something I feel necessary to defend myself on; however, the connotation in which everything you wrote urges me to give you a proper response.

Yes, I could have googled the answer to that, but had already typed out the first part of my post and while I was waiting for the time restriction to go away - as I had posted recently in another sub - and had about 30 seconds to kill, so I threw the only other question I had on - hence why it is at the end. But I see where you're coming from, next time I need java help I won't ask a question in /r/javahelp.

Next, like I said, I'm in an intro class, so I did not know the significance of of upper/lowercase spelling - and my natural handwriting is all caps, so the way I wrote on the paper is the way I write normally. Additionally, my professor wrote that on a side note, so I knew that already after getting this back.

As for the vast majority of everything else you said, it hardly makes any sense to me as, again, this is an i n t r o class, and I haven't learned much about Java. A side note - my professor is from India, and doesn't know more than maybe 75% of the English language, and in addition to this, is barely understandable.

This was the first quiz given in the class so far and there wasn't a study guide/anything to let me know what I don't know. I did spend time and effort on the subject, it's simply new to me. Forgive me for trying to learn.

I don't know if your intention was to answer my question or try to make me feel stupid, but for being a moderator I suggest a different approach next time.

Ban me if you please, if that will make you feel better, but if I ever post in here again, don't feel it necessary to reply. Thank you.
