I got hacked in 2008. I was a level 80 butt naked Orc Warrior because all my stuff was vendored. I decided to make money by mining colbalt ore and selling it in the AH. A Blood Elf Hunter omw back to Org from Warsong was roasting me about my gear. We were on the zeppelin together. I told him I was hacked. He got all empathetic and told me his account was also compromised once. Hours later I get in-game mail containing 20k gold (which was a lot back then) with a message basically saying, "hope this helps." This was when written mail wasn't a physical item you can put in your inventory. As soon as I exited the mailbox the letter was gone. Till this day I have no idea who that guy was and I never got the chance to thank him. I didn't know his IGN. I never forgot though.
