Helseth Talks About the Issues within the Competitive Scene

"Anet confirmed", the money thing again. I simply disagree PvP was a good ad. We all know from numbers it did not do much for the game, it'd be better if it spent elsewhere.

Saying ad money won't magically go into extra salaries/content is wrong because in this case it magically went into PvP. Adding real money rewards to PvE is also a thing you know.

PvP does not really "create content". Most content creators are from PvE in most games. PvP creates streaming, something to watch as it is happening. In gw2 for me personally it is not enjoyable to watch PvP. And i watch a lot of games i dont even play as he mentions. Game needs to appeal to people with little clue about whats going on as well as people with knowledge to be a good watchable thing. Like counter strike. Dota 2 was critized for this same reason as opposed to dota 1 it was kinda harder to see wtf is happening at first.

I think PvP is good for a game, it just is bullshit to spend money on it before you fix certain things such as: Watchability, skill split so you can balance properly, performance and bug issues.

I wish that they first fixed their shit THEN spent the ad $$$ on PvP. And for some reason this translates into "i hate PvP as a PvE player" to most.
