Henry Rollins on The Lost Generation

I'm no engineer so I'm not really able to judge for myself whether the work done since then is really where it should be, BUT New Orleans has been re-vamping its drainage system ever since. Most residents assume (hopefully correctly) that things like levee wall failure from over-topping (the main cause of N.O. flooding after katrina) will NOT happen again. Unfortunately, it's still a very rickety system, as the city frequently floods even from heavy rain, not just named storms. And the weather is getting worse with climate change, as last year's bonanza of storms evidences. Again, there are plenty folks more knowledgable than me on the subject.
