Here is my interpretation of what the "Holy Trinity" means, please correct me if I misunderstood.

There's ONE GOD, yet the father, son, & spirit are not the same GOD.

You're doing good except for this one statement.

There is only one God. Remember that God is a title. God is not a name, God is not an attribute. The word God is simply a title.

God the Father, is God. And he is the Father. God the Son, is God, and he's the same God has got the Father. And the easy way to understand who God the Son is, is to recognize that the sun is simply every word ever spoken by God the Father. And because of the integrity between God the Father and his own Word, there is absolutely no difference between who God is and what God has said. And then finally there is God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God. The same God as God the Father. In the same God as God the Son. Also known as the Word of God. And the Holy Spirit is simply the Power of God.

The Orthodox understanding is that we have one God, in three persons.

So the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, are the same being. No difference whatsoever.

My personal preferences to understand it this way...

God, is a powerful being that speak. Or, a powerful speaking being. Or a being that powerfully speaks.

It's all the same expression because it's all just one individual being.

It also helps to understand but however you look at the trinity, you will only understand in part. We Christians like to keep the Trinity of the mystery. It's very important that it be a mystery. Of course why it's so important for us to be a mystery is in and of itself a mystery. But don't mess with the mystery. Christians get really upset if you mess with the mystery. Cuz... Reasons.
