Hey Gunnit, my dad invented a firearm safety device

Fully, disclosure: RaptorAttack is my brother and Ammo-Safe was invented by my Dad.

That said... The vast majority of responses to this thread were to use zip ties and epoxy and "don't be stupid". Seriously? And you wonder why the gun lobby is coming so hard after our guns.

Many years ago, it became clear that owning a car was a VERY dangerous thing. What if the auto industry responded by saying: "We don't need bumpers! We don't need seatbelts! Just drive better! Just take some rope from your clothesline and tie around your waste to the seat every time you get in a car! Are you too STUPID to tie a knot?" They'd be trying to ban cars too.

I'm sure that spending a Sunday afternoon epoxying weedwacker string to snap caps sounds like a real hoot for some of you, but the majority of Americans would NEVER do this.

And are you saying that you zip tie your gun EVERY time you put it away just in case little 5yo Johnny finds it? Of course not. It's too much of a pain in the ass to have to find a new one and put in and subsequently cut off the next time you use it.

We're all about gun rights and exposing as many people as we can to them. We all know that gun ownership is on the rise. Don't you think it'll make a person NEWLY exposed to guns more comfortable to see a REAL SAFETY product being used instead of zip ties and weeedwacker string? IT'S FUCKING HACK. I'm surprised someone didn't suggest getting some duct tape and wrapping it around the end of the muzzle.

Don't like Ammo-Safe? I get it. It's not everyone. But to promote zip ties and weedwacker string over a product created to promote REAL GUN SAFETY is just beyond rediculous.

Flame away...
