HEY. Mount Bonnell’s parking area shouldn’t be mostly full. Stay home you selfish fucks.

How many more of these threads are we going to have?

People have been going to outdoor spaces, shopping at grocery stores, etc. for the last month. They were packing the trails and parks, until those were closed. I see maybe 50% of people wearing masks while out in public, they're mostly fabric, which have questionable effectiveness.

COVID-19 has an incubation period of 14 days max, meaning that we'd be seeing cases skyrocket over the past few weeks. We have ~750 confirmed cases and 9 deaths. Out of a population of 1.3 million. That's currently a .0007% fatality rate, if you're keeping score.

The most up-to-the-minute predictions show that Texas has roughly 7x the number of hospital beds we are projected to need as the virus peaks in our state.

Clearly, all of the people packing grocery stores and outdoor spaces are not coming down with the condition. Which means that COVID 19 is like every other respiratory virus. It is transmitted through coofs and can be managed with social distance and basic hygiene.

We don't need to shut down huge swaths of our beautiful outdoor space for indefinite amounts of time when the virus can be counteracted with these relatively simple measures.
