Hey r/conspiracy, I know you don't give a shit but UK politics is undergoing a revolution. A virtual communist, Jeremy Corbyn, is on course to be leader a party once led by Tony Blair. He wants Blair arrested for war crimes.

Ok : So apologies if the formatting isn’t on point. I am not used to providing such a large response

So firstly I will address the misconception between Communism and Socialism. Often people throw around Marxism as a blanket statement. What occurred in communist China or Russia actually bares little resemblance to Marx text outside of the Communist manifesto. I hope we can all agree that religious manifesto’s have been proven destructive when enough people misinterpret.

Communism Vs Socialism

A video explanation for those less inclined to read

Whilst I could provide other sources, this is one that I personally agree with and in my mind just as relevant as “American Thinker”. Of course it is biased to a degree, but no one arguing for one of the other model will be entirely free of bias.

Misuse of the word ‘Socialist’

Next, I will address why Socialism is used as a swear word.

Another ploy by the elite and wealthy

Please note again how it refers to the general lack of understanding of how Marxist socialism was implemented in Russia and China

And Here

For me the evidence I use is looking at current statistics around the world.

Whilst America is shown here in the top 10, please note that 7 our of the top 10 have had the ‘Socialist’ label. That to me would suggest it can indeed work. Negating the fact that to many, the United States is Socialist Capitalist anyway. Standard of living index

And GSP Vs National Debt

NB : Just for shits and giggles lets compare the United States (Undoubtedly labelled Capitalist) Vs Norway (Arguably the most Socialist) 82 Vs -165 to me that is an indication of a system working, not failing. You may view it differently, but also note Norway being number one in the Standard of living index, 4 places above the United States.

Whilst I have never, and will never suggest Socialism is a catch-all fix to the worlds problems, I don’t think anyone could claim their countries standard of living is entirely equal across the board, and there is no doubt that in most ‘western’ capitalist countries now, the gap between the rich and the poor is getting greater and greater day by day. I believe we need a change, and if that mean’s going back to the drawing board, great. Lets do it. But perhaps we are missing an opportunity by ignoring the fact that that Socialism was entirely misinterpreted by China and Russian Communist agenda’s, and that has been engrained in our minds as a failure.

For those that want to read into it a little more I have added some links to studies into the subject.

Towards a new socialism

Collaborative Research : Socialism goes Global

Again I go back to my original point. Jeremy Corbyn is offering an alternative in the United Kingdom, an alternative which very well may not come to fruition, admittedly he is still a politician, however, if there is a remote possibility he will make changes, then that is where my vote will go. Each to their own point of view.

The reason I didn’t bother responding earlier is because I will always respect someone elses opinion, and not simply tell them they are wrong. That isn’t how adults discuss issues, and is how we have gotten into such a shit-state with political systems in general “No you’re the bad guy” type responses help no one.
