Hey Reddit! I have 10 HTC devices to give away to you, including 2 REs!

I compile fully decked out modding guides for unique Android devices, such as:

  • The HTC HD2 , which is able to run Windows Phone 7, Native Linux, and Android. One of HTC's greatest phones of all time, thanks to the community that worked to rescue it from Windows Mobile obsoletion.
  • The LG Optimus G E970 , which uses the same hardware as a Nexus 4, but adds an SDCard slot and real LTE antennas. It can have a Nexus 4 bootloader installed to run Nexus 4 ROMs without modification, so I clarified the difficult process of reflashing the partition scheme on that phone.
  • The HTC J Butterfly was one of the few HTC phones of 2012 that had an SDCard slot, so I had to go out to Japan to buy it, and translate Japanese modding guides into English. Thankfully, HTC has brought back the SDCard slot in the One M8.

This is a compilation and archive of the amazing achievements of the modding community. I made this because Android modding guides on XDA and elsewhere suffer link rot over the years (many links went to megaupload and other dead download sites). Also, modders are often having so much fun making new features, that they often neglect to make helpful tutorials.

Without archival, the custom ROMs that bring new Android versions to old phones and methods made for each device would be lost forever.

Those phones are still important as hand-me-downs for children and family, provide a lasting educational experience, and are definitely better than a cheap Alcatel at Walmart.

I'd love to add another one to the list, since I haven't had the resources to buy extra phones, nor have I inherited as many used phones as I did in my youth.
