Hey Reddit, When did your “Somethings not right here” gut Feeling ever save you?

I don't know if it ever saved me, but I almost ignored it completely lol

I was in Vegas last summer (f30yo) by myself for a work conference, and I had a few drinks and got in the elevator to go get food later in the night. A couple guys got in and hit the top floor, so I made conversation and asked whats up there. They asked if I wanted to see the penthouse, so I said sure, and they kept saying things like "you know whats up there", which is when my gut feeling started to kick in. I didn't want to just back out, so I followed them to the penthouse, freaking out the whole time. I get inside and there's a few other men hanging out on the sofas. With their strong accents and baldish heads, I seriously felt like I was in one of those movies where they drag low level drug dealers in to send a message, you know? Anyways, one of the guys from the elevator took me out to the balcony, where it really was a truly gorgeous view of the Strip at night. After a bit of small talk, I made my excuses, said my fiance was waiting for me back in the hotel room, and hightailed it out of there.

I make seriously bad decisions when I'm on solo trips.
