Hey Redditors: does calling everyone who served in the military a "hero" diminish the term? why/why not?

You think just like a fucking jarhead. Most people aren't thanking you for being in the military because they think you're a hero. If they are thanking you, without knowing what you did, then they're not very mature or intelligent to begin with. But most honest to god Americans thank you for your service because countless men have died before you to allow someone as close minded as you the ability to serve in whatever capacity it is. People like you and the others who serve are what keep our force voluntary. I don't understand why you and many other little fucking boys get your panties in a bunch about someone trying to be nice and thanking you for doing a job most wouldn't volunteer for.
