Hey T_D I have no Contextual understanding of Spain and their Politics. Isn't Spain and Catalonia equally worthless? I thought they both hated trump. Please give me a 101 on spains mindset

this very misleading. Yes, the speaker of the house IS, elected by the people as a Congressman. There is No member of the house that was not Elected by the people. Speakers of the houses are elevated to that position AFTER the people elect him, AND THEN Congress can choose their leader (after that leader has been elected by the people as a congressman.

The president of the European parliament is Antonio Tajani.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Tajani

In 2014 he was elected by EU citizens to the EU parliament (he represents the constituency of Central Italy). He is a member of the conservative EPP (European People's Party). After getting elected to the EU parliament in 2014, he was elected to be the President of the EU parliament in 2017.

No please explain me how this is not comparable to Paul Ryan (I'm really curious about that).

Paul Ryan runs as representative of the Wisconsin's 1st congressional district for the House -> gets elected to the House by people in Wisconsin -> runs as Speaker of the House -> wins the election to the Speaker of the House.

Antonio Tajani runs as representative for Central Italy for the EU parliament by people in central Italy -> gets elected to the EU parliament -> runs as president of the EU parliament -> wins the election to the president of the EU parliament.

WOW .You have clearly no idea how the EU and their institutions function. Don't embarrass yourself. WOW

Dude, wow, yet ANOTHER Misleading statement. The Parliament is the only thing elected by the people in Europe.

How is it misleading? It's absolutely true. The members of the European council are the head of the states. Who votes in the French member of the European council? The French people. And the members of the European parliament are directly elected by EU citizens.

This is not misleading. This is the truth.

elected by the separate EU governments -> by who? -> Governments .... NOT "The People".

Who elects the separate governments? Not the people?

The EU Commision does NOT Democratically elect The President of The EU.

THERE IS NO PRESIDENT OF THE EU.

President of the European parliament -> Has to be a member of the European parliament (thus voted in by EU citizens). He represents the EU parliament, like the Speaker of the House in the US represents the House.

President of the EU council -> Is voted in by the members of the EU council, which are the head of the EU states (these are elected by EU citizens). He has no executive power and just organizes meetings and functions as a spokesperson between the council and the parliament.

President of the EU commission -> Has to be a member of the EU commission to become President of the EU commission. Every EU country has one place in the EU commission and can decide for themselves who they send. The EU parliament elects the president of the EU commission. He has as much power as any other member of the EU commission. He alone can't decide which points to pursue. They will voted by the EU commission and thus every EU country can speak/argue for or against/vote for different points.

So, He tells the EU what they can and cannot pursue for policy. That's a very powerful Role. If he said tonight.

He doesn't. The EU commission does, which consists of 28 members. Each country has one EU commissioner which is send by the current government in this EU country. As explained above. Juncker alone can't do jack shit.

He COULD.

He can't. He is the spokesperson of the EU and the president of the EU commission has no right to recognize countries. Not even the EU parliament has this right. Only the separate EU countries have the right to recognize countries. An example is the recognition of Kosovo as a individual country. There are EU members which recognize Kosovo as separate country (like France, Germany, the UK, ...) and EU members which don't recognize Kosovo as country (like Spain, Slovakia, Greece and Romania).

So your former statement of him being a P.R person is demonstrably false. Get outta here bub.

No it's not. You're just wrong. WOW.
