Hi fellow redditors, I'm a case manager for universal credit. AMA and I'll try my best to help you with any questions related to universal credit.

The DWP has many different departments. As a case manager we only can refer an assessment to the health care proffesionals who do the assessments. Once the refferals are done we don't have any control of their decision. For example if there is a LCWRA rate to be added to a claimants account should they be awarded because of there health. These are done by decision makers.

I haven't come across any DWP staff that are corrupt and certainly i would say that the DWP isn't about being corrupt. I can understand why for those who are claimant may feel differently about that but i can respect your opinion. Should anyone go against treating people fairly should be questioned as it's not fair. After all in my role i enjoy helping people and making a positive difference.
