Hi r/tattoo! Sorry this isn't what you're used to, but I need your advice.

Pop culture tattoos are fine. Everyone has a favorite movie or game or book, etc. Get what you want. I'd rather see pop culture tattoos of Zelda and other video games than a dumb meme no one will remember. Zelda and other nerd tattoos have longevity. There's a whole subreddit to pop culture nerd and gaming tattoos. If you get a zelda themed tattoo-- well awesome! You love zelda so it would still be an expression of a part of you.

Honestly you could get a tattoo of a puppy just because you like dogs or some flowers because why not? It's your body. Just make sure you save up money and do very careful research for your artist. And then start thinking of what you want and talk to an artist to help flesh out your ideas.

Some people want their tattoos to have more deeper meaning. I'm one of them. But everyone gets tattoos for different reasons and there's no law or rule that they HAVE to be some super symbolic expression.
