Hi there! New to cancer, I have cervical, ovarian, and bladder cancer! Let's chat!

So I had a long message typed out to you but i wasn't finished before I got carsick and had to stop. Sadly my toddler deleted it before watching Elmo's World.

I was telling you that I think I left off hot flashes in my last round of side effects. The chemo stops your hormones and puts you through a menopause state. I get hot flashes and get dripping wet with sweat several times a day. It's horrible. My hormones should come back but as part of my treatment I'll get my ovaries out soon so I guess the hot flashes are here to stay for a while.

I don't have the same kinda pain you do, but yes, I'm loaded up with all kinds of meds. They try to make you as comfortable as possible. I take Vicodin daily, mostly before bed, along with a sleeping pill, or id never sleep. As it is I still wake up often due to stiff muscles or hot flashes. I also have Valium, muscle relaxers, three diff nausea meds, Xanax, Percocet, Ambien, I think that's it...

I try to go the day without anything that makes me sleepy but sometimes I need to ward off a panic attack or pain. Not the extreme pain you describe but nerve regeneration from the mastectomy or muscle/bone pain. Sorry yours is so severe. I only experienced the meds not being able to help when I had that week long migraine. Nothing touched that and that was terrifying. Luckily the alternate shot didn't have that effect so I was okay.

Thats so sweet you were a surrogate! I carried our child and we got sperm from a family friend and did it ourselves. My wife is a therapist working in the schools so we are both public servants = poor.
