Errrr.. drugs are the reason people become this way. I visit people at home who have been sectioned or placed under some kind of court order, many of them have drug addictions. My most extreme client is a woman who lives in a mansion, who has unlimited funds because she is shareholder of a company.. who at this point does nothing but use liquid xtc in combination with speed all day and all night. She passes out, wakes up, gets more and does it again. Her entire house is trashed, its like a whole group of bums have squatted in her living room. She does sex work on the side because she’s completely bent on self destruction. She also has a very severe personality disorder that made her naturally roll into drug use. She has a couple children that she can’t see anymore, apart from under strict supervision. We need to get her to become clean, but we can’t even get her through a hospital rehab because she manages to smuggle the drugs in via her vagina and anus. The other week I spent my entire night after work helping her get into a rehab clinic only to find out she was kicked out the next morning because she was using in her room. It’s terrible. Being rich doesn’t make any difference. She knows she’s gonna die if she keeps doing it, but the drugs have ransacked her inner and outer world, her view of herself and of others.
