High BMI linked to Covid-19 death risk, especially in men: Study - ET HealthWorld

People like my in-laws don't think about their weight impacting their health. They are clinically obese - my FIL has a host of weight-related problems that he blames on having fought in Vietnam, and my MIL routinely brags about how she has normal blood pressure readings and isn't on any meds and is therefore healthy. Some of my own family members are in the overweight to obese range, and they are also seemingly in denial. My mother loves to go on about other people (including my in-laws) being fat and about me being too thin; she says all this while sporting a massive amount of belly fat and all the signs of metabolic syndrome which she's ignoring.

No one should be shamed for their body, but it seems that there are a lot of people in society who are content to ignore that their weight poses significant health problems.
