The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) facility in Alaska has provided invaluable knowledge about our planet's ionosphere since it opened in 1993... and material for endless conspiracy theories about weather manipulation and mind control.

As a fellow Aspie, I wanted to ask you if you've ever realized what a privilege it is to be able to drive? Not all people with Autism or other mental and physical disabilities are able to do so, myself included.

In your car-centric environment, I'm MORE disabled than I am in a dense, urban environment. If I didn't live in a dense, historic urban center, I would not be able to be the independent and functioning person I am. You frequently claim that no one wants to live in dense cities or take the bus, but here I am, a person with Autism just like you, but I truly would be in hell in the suburban places you love. People like us can get tunnel vision, in fact, I'm kind of the opposite version of you. I am single mindely focused on sustainability, transit, biking, etc., but I don't go into car subreddits and post pictures of bikes... I think you need to take your head out of your own bubble and your own personal experiences and realize that your attitudes, opinions, and experiences are not universal. The world you're trying to build is one that actively excludes and disables me and people with other struggles. Car-Dependent Societies exacerbate the struggles faced by the disabled, the poor, the environment, etc. Not all people CAN drive, your dream society would let people like me fall through the cracks. Please take the time to reflect on your narrow view of the world and realize that a broader perspective is required to get along with a wide variety of people.

This is a good lesson for anyone else who reads this on how difficult life with autism can be! Here are two autistic people, both fascinated with urban form and transportation, but we would never be able to be friends in real life, because the society you advocate for disables me! Autistic people are all so different, even ones who are similar, it ends up leaving us often alone.
