High migration from EU worth it for rewards, says Cameron - The Times

I wonder if anyone would be able to convince me to vote to remain if they were aware of my current situation.

David's speech on having no issue with EU immigration, despite claiming the numbers as disappointing, reveals that the governments efforts to reduce the number will be 100% focused on non-eu countries if we choose to remain.

I'm an Englishman, I'm engaged and soon to be wed to a Russian woman. Since 2012 a financial threshold has been put in place as a pre-requisite to the visa application for my spouse. It is very clear that these measures were put in place to attempt to address the high numbers of immigrants in the only possible way that the UK government had any control over.

The financial threshold of £18,600 is something that nearly 40% of the British workforce cannot afford. 40% of the British population are informed that they have no right to a family unless they earn a certain amount of money, or move out of the UK. This 40% included myself until very recently, where I landed a position through sheer luck rather than effort after nearly 2 and a half years, and still I am only several hundred pounds over the threshold...which I have to wait another six months before we can even begin to apply.

Due to the current regulations on non-eu immigration as a blatant result of being unable to refuse or control EU immigration, why would anyone in my position choose to actively vote to remain in the EU, knowing that my right and everyone elses in the same situation comes with a price tag that they simply can't afford?

Why, as an individual that has paid taxes, NI, contributed to communities and lived in this country all my life be told that I have no right to marry and begin a family with who I choose unless I earn above £18,600 a year, of which my future wife's contributions are ignored, along with her education, degrees, and worth to the country once she gets here? Meanwhile, a German national can bring his Chineese wife into the UK and her italian children, and not face any of those requirements.

Why, would I want to vote to remain in the EU?
