Whats wrong with TikTok? Yes it is the company in question.

  • 996 culture. If you hear about good WLB it's the rare exception and not the norm.
  • You will likely have to work odd hours, having a meeting after 10pm isn't exactly uncommon due to the parent company being in China.
  • Favoritism/cliqs based on your race you may be the only non-Chinese person on your team. If you're the only non-Chinese person you're probably going to be excluded from a lot of conversations.
  • If you don't read/understand Chinese you'll be in for a rough time as a lot of internal documentation and meetings with Chinese teams are in Chinese. You will need to rely on the auto-generate captions or translations.
