The Hillary Clinton email controversy explained: what we know so far

It's interesting how sinister shit can look when one is looking at something with the notion the person who wrote it is 100% guilty. Let's take the latest Wikileaks email being made a big deal out of.

we are going to have to dump all those emails so better to do so sooner than later

Holy shit sinister as fuck, right? I mean, lock them up and throw away the fucking key! Whew, lad, open and shut case of ... something.

Wait, but could they be dumping the emails off server to another server? Could they be taking about a large email dump that needs to be handed over? Could they be talking about dumping the emails as a handover to the inquiry committee as per protocol?

See, that's the problem with this whole Wikileaks email dump. No fucking context. And anything, anything can be approached as proof of guilt without context. That's what makes context so god damn powerful. That's why people don't like their words being "taken out of context", or "edited out of context", because one can easily spin it to make them look like liars, thieves, or criminals.

It takes a long time to get context. Were they talking about dumping the emails in a just manner, in accordance with something demanded of them? It's possible.

See, this is why we have a fucking presumption of innocence as the base standard to the justice system. Because what's being essentially advocated here, if you look past all the fucking bullshit, is a presumption of guilt.

And you can see it in the frothing mouths over at r/The_denial. In their headlines especially.

"BOMBSHELL"

"SMOKING GUN"

"IT'S OVER LOCK HER UP"

And it's just some email about a woman saying, "Hey, can we talk about a way to react to this story together?"

r/T_D: "Wait, they're colluding with the fucking NYT!!!!!!!!!!! RIGGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Reality: They're a fucking political body, of course they're going to discuss how to respond to the press. And of course they're going to be emailed questions from the press ... SO THEY CAN FUCKING ANSWER THEM. i mean, are you fucking serious?

Just take a fucking step back and get some perspective, people. If you come at something presuming guilt, that's not democracy. That's not how our systems work. That's authoritarianism, plain and fucking simple.
