Ugh. I just want this election to be over. I'm only voting for Hillary if it's close. I know that's not a popular opinion on this sub or sub that has a bone to pick with the Regressive Left. (I can't fucking stand the RL either, don't get me wrong). But at least on her watch, she won't get us into a trade war with China or set us back even further in the Middle East than we already are.

Yes, there's this element of a "cultural election" and yes, Hillary is a scumbag. But I'd be willing to bet she can at least tell us the difference between Hamas and Hezbollah. Or why taking Ramadi back was so essential. Or what the importance of Dabiq is. I wouldn't hesitate to assume Trump doesn't. Not to mention his stated public admiration for an ex-KGB hood at the head of what is slowly becoming a reborn USSR. Trump worries me because with him we could legitimately be driven towards an international incident we have no business being in.

Again, that's not gonna be very popular around here as I'd expect. But I just can't vote for someone who could get us into some actual deep shit. Cultural politics aside, this is international foreign policy; it's big-boy politics. No more of this Twitter-posting silliness, "we're gonna build a wall and make Mexico pay for it" nonsense. Hillary may be cold and calculating, but that's exactly the type of person I want right now. Obama rightly got a lot of shit for the drone strikes, but I'd be willing to bet that there are a lot more innocent men, women and children who are alive today because of carefully planned drone strikes.
